Toolbox Brewing is proud to present Eau d' Vine Blanc, the second in our Eau d' Vine series. The blend consists of our American Wild Ale base fermented in French oak Chardonnay barrels for 6-18 months with a house blend of multiple wild yeasts and bacteria. It was aged for an additional 6 weeks on juicy Orange Muscat grapes grown in Buellton California, picked just at their peak of ripeness. The beer has conditioned in the bottle for 4 months to obtain the characteristic carbonation of Eau d' Vine.

Tap a cask with us at each of our Brewpub locations every Thursday night. Each week we've got something new and different that our brewers have dreamed up for you to give a try.
Cask-conditioned beer is an ale that undergoes a secondary fermentation by maturing in small casks (approximately 11 gallons), which gives it more developed flavors than draught beer. It is also smoother than keg beer because it is dispensed without the use of carbon dioxide (CO2). Draught beer is pushed from a keg using CO2, while cask beer is pulled out of the cask and drawn into the glass using a siphon pump device called a beer engine. This is the traditional serving technique found in pubs in the UK.
We tap a new cask every Thursday at 5 p.m.
Tapping this week:
Fuggle Dry-Hopped Follow the Sun Kölsch
4.7% ABV - 3 SRM - 15 IBU

At Reckless Brewing Trivia the questions are designed and read by none other than the owner and brewer himself. Categories this week will include Things named for animals, Idioms and acronyms.
First prize includes $25 gift certificate and an opportunity to start the Rube Goldberg Machine.

The Pink Lightning
Early American Colonial Ale, 8.0% ABV
Brewed in collaboration with the SD Pink Boots Society for Big Boots Brew Day 2017! This deep red ale is malty and strong, something Benjamin Franklin would have drunk in the late 1700’s, because it is brewed with corn, molasses, and local honey, common ingredients in those days.
Our Historic Ale was brewed on International Women’s Day to honor women in the beer industry and raise donations for SD Pink Boots Society. Second Chance is proud to support SD PBS again this year!

The San Diego Brewers Guild’s annual spring bookend event will take place on Saturday, May 6th from 1 to 4 p.m. Join fellow craft beer aficionados in the heart of Vista Village to celebrate what sets San Diego beer apart from the rest — both its breweries and its enthusiasts, of course. You’ll have the opportunity to sample over 100 beers from over 50 of our county's award-winning breweries, all while grooving to live musical performances and enjoying delicious eats from local food trucks. Proceeds from the event will benefit the San Diego Brewers Guild, a nonprofit whose mission is to promote awareness and increase the visibility of fresh, locally brewed beer through education and participation in community events.
Be sure to check back as we announce bands and breweries and for more #SDBeer updates follow us on Instagram @sdbrewers.

AleSmith Brewing Company will be hosting a 5.5 kilometer walk/run Father’s Day Weekend to pay tribute to Tony Gwynn - a hall of famer, coach, teammate, and Dad. Nicknamed “Mr. Padre” for his unfaltering commitment to his hometown, Tony is considered one of the best and most consistent hitters in baseball history. The majority of his record breaking hits were targeted to the thin slice of infield between the third baseman and shortstop, which he later dubbed as the “5.5 hole”. Funds raised from this event will forever honor this legend and raise money for the Tony and Alicia Gwynn Foundation.
The 5.5K will be a loop through Miramar (aka Beer-a-mar) starting and ending at AleSmith Brewing with a beer pit-stop along the course at Mikkeller San Diego.
"Many wonderful things have sprung forth from the work we've done here at AleSmith over the past two decades, and one of the best has been forging a true, heartfelt friendship with the Gwynn family. What started as the collaborative development of a beer for Mr. Padre back in 2014, has turned into a close, mutually, respectful relationship that's allowed us to work together with TAG to help fellow San Diegans in need. The Tony Gwynn 5.5k is one of the most fun ways we get to do that, so it's our pleasure to bring it back as an annual event where people from all walks of life can get together and support TAG's humanitarian efforts while having a good time and, of course, some good beer, too."
-Peter Zien (AleSmith Owner & CEO)
After the race, join your fellow runners, walkers, and Tony Gwynn fans for a celebration at AleSmith Brewing Company's facility! Enjoy food trucks, live music, and great beer. Each participant who is 21 years or older will receive a drink ticket which is included with registration (or two for Major League and Hall of Fame Levels) good for a pint of AleSmith's many beers, including the San Diego Pale Ale .394, a beer developed in collaboration with Tony Gwynn in 2014.
